The Muse Bulb Replacement Programme

Ensuring the safety of our customers is our utmost priority, and we consistently monitor the performance of all our products. We have recently been informed that a few customers have encountered issues with the bulb in the Muse Portable Lamp, specifically from batches numbered between 01/21 and 01/24 inclusive.

While this issue is low risk (0.0074% incidence rate) it involves the potential of overheating the battery. The Muse light devices themselves are safe to use. The issue is limited to the light bulb only and does not impact the device. We will run a free bulb replacement program for those customers with the effected batches.

If you own a Muse Portable Lamp with a batch number between 01/21 and 01/24, please stop using the lamp immediately and click this link to register for a replacement bulb.

Your safety is our top concern, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our customer support team at or +44 7700 170343.

Please note: this issue does not affect any of the Muse Portable Lamps currently being sold on the Tala website.

Batch Number Identifier

Here is how you can identify if your Muse Portable Lamp qualifies for the bulb replacement program.

How do I know if my Muse light is qualified for the bulb replacement program?

This recall involves light bulbs used in Muse lights produced between 2021 and 2024. If your Muse light was purchased within this time frame, it may be affected by this voluntary recall. Please reference the batch number to determine if your unit is impacted. This can be found on the underside of the unit, demonstrated above.

How do I request a replacement light bulb?

Please fill the following form: Tala - The Muse Bulb Replacement Form.

How do I know my Muse light device(s) are safe to use?

The Muse light devices themselves are safe to use. The issue is limited to the light bulbs used in certain batches. All current and replacement light bulbs meet and exceed industry safety standards.

What do I do with my old bulb?

You can recycle your old bulb locally using one of these regional services. Find your local recycling point HERE.

You can also recycle your bulb in regular recycling waste collections as the bulb does not contain any hazardous materials.

Where can I find my batch number?

The batch number can be located on the base of your Muse, and will look as follows - 00/00 (Image provide on page 3 of request form and pictured above).

My Batch number is not listed in the form, is it sill affected?

If your batch number is NOT 03/24 then this is eligble for the replacement programme. Affected batches are numbered between 01/21 and 01/24.

Does the issue effect the Muse Wall Light?

No, this issue is isolated to the Muse Portable Bulbs, and your Muse Wall lights will not be affected.

I no longer have my receipt / proof of purchase, can I still register for a replacement?

If you have purchased directly with Tala, please send your  order, delivery and email details to and we can provide you with your information.
