Highlights from Salone del Mobile, Milan 2022

Milan has long been the number one European destination for luxury retail and gravity-defying exhibitions. So it’s safe to assume that we were more than excited to be back for Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week, this time with a selection of our lights.

Pollice Illuminazione
This year we were proud to partner with Pollice Illuminazione for Milan Design Week and Salone del Mobile. We were kindly offered a dedicated space within their west Milan showroom where we showcased a ‘Dim to Warm’ display in their LightLab. The Pollice LightLab is centered around the concept of ‘Clever Light’ aiming to feature a collection of lighting that aids the natural circadian rhythm and creates a healthy balance of melatonin production based on the correct light level at each point of the day. The ‘Dim to Warm’ technology featured in our display allows this kind of ‘healthy light’ and so works beautifully with the story being told in the Pollice showroom.

We featured Alumina lamps, Alumina Triple Pendants in Chalk finish and the David Weeks for Tala Echo collection. Pollice Illuminazione hosted a drinks event to present both Tala and Tekna to clients and friends, The Muse Candlenut brightened up the high tables in the courtyard and during a bit of a downpour they continued to glow with their IP44 rating.

We look forward to next year when we will be partnering again with Pollice Illuminazione for Euroluce, Salone del Mobile. If you are in Milan be sure to visit the showroom as our lighting will remain on display during the year.

Hermes
Design giants Hermes presented their new home collections within a set of four vast structures, resembling water-towers. Made from wood and covered with translucent coloured paper, they radiated light onto their collections within.

Kohler
Best known for their kitchen and bath designs, Kohler monopolised the Palazzo del Senato with a 30ft immersive instillation entitled “Divided Layers”, which builds upon the release of Rock.01 a 3D printed sink designed by Daniel Arsham. The stacked panels combined to form a walkable tunnel, with each panel referencing a single plane of the 3D printed clay that layer together to form the sink.

Poltrona Frau
The Immersive, sculptural installation, was created to celebrate Poltrona Frau’s 110th anniversary. Covered with large mirrored scales, the instillation aimed to evoke an explosion of digital pixels that radiated into the ether.

Alcova
Alcova is fast becoming our favourite Milan destination for exceptionally curated work. Situated in an abandoned military base, a host of international designers took over the myriad of spaces indoors and out. Its fresh and very dyanmic.

Some of our highlights include the beautiful lighting display created by Lambert & Fils and SolidNature’s collaboration with Sabine Marcelis.

That’s it for another year; though I’m sure we’ll try to find any excuse to pop back to Milan before then for an Aperol Spritz, or two.
