Kellow Construction

At Tala, we’re always thrilled to see our lighting play a part in projects that push the boundaries of design and purpose. Recently, we had the privilege of being part of Kellow Construction’s award-winning Torito Road project, a stunning, resilient home built with the realities of California’s environment in mind.

The Torito Road project, completed just before the devastating LA fires, Kellow meticulously selected Class A fire-rated materials, including Corten steel and thermally modified cedar, to create a home that could withstand the challenges of its environment. However, they also recognized the importance of interior comfort, aiming to balance strength with serenity.

We selected Tala’s soft, round Raindrop fixtures to bring contrast to the angular, resilient structure. Their subtle, feminine form evokes the delicate rhythm of rain—each fixture appearing to drip gently from the ceiling, echoing the gentle ambiance of a forest cabin. This interplay of strength and softness, resilience and serenity, is what makes the home so striking. In a high-fire zone, the feeling of lightness and calm is a radical act—and Tala helped us deliver exactly that.

This project is a testament to our belief that homes should do more than shelter—they should nurture, protect, and inspire. We're proud to work with partners like Tala who share our commitment to beauty, sustainability, and timeless design.
